Trip On My Tongue was a direct collaboration between Red 2 Six and Huddyglo. He
recorded the chord progression with a fender rhodes, guitar, tracked vocals, and played
drums onto a 1⁄4” reel to reel, while Red 2 Six came up with the chromatic bass voicings and
sound effects to contribute the film noir vibe he excels at. The concept behind the song was
recalling a fever dream he had while at a party at his DIY house venue in Oakland. The song
was inspired by Krautrock bands like Neu! and Can as well as modern dance rockers like
LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip.
