lukas I went into this album completely on a whim and loved it! It was one of the only things I listened to for 2 days. It sounds a lot like classic rock and definitely gives off some White Album Beatles vibes (especially with the album cover). Fantastic work! Favorite track: Black Tourmaline.

Get It Right 02:57
Here in this room it’s just you and me but behind the curtain there’s others to see. Come inside if you wanna ride to the other side. If you’re unsure or feeling impure wait and get it right. I spoke to the ground and I’ve heard them speak and I’ve been waiting a while now to meet the other me. I’ll come inside. Yeah I wanna ride to the other side. But I’m unsure. I’m feeling impure. I’ll wait and get it right. Yeah we’re unsure, we’re feeling impure. We’ll wait and get it right.

Protect me, protect me, and keep me evil free, cuz if I’m without you something bad’s gonna happen to me. Running, running, running through the alley just you and me. Sliding through the dark. Black tourmaline Black tourmaline Change me, rebuild me, together piece by piece. Anew now, I wonder who I was before I was me. Pulling, pulling, pulling away the thread from the seam. Now you see my face. Black tourmaline Black tourmaline

Transmission 02:58
Pulling in the light. Pulling in the light. Pulling in the light. Pulling in the light. Release me from the dark. Release me from the dark. Release me from the dark. Release me from the dark. Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! The candle and the flame, it came out from the dark. Like you and everything, it started with a spark. Your head upon the ground, you must advert your eyes and feel your body lift, a tower to the sky. Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Pulling in the light. Pulling in the light. Pulling in the light. Pulling in the light. Release me from the dark. Release me from the dark. Release me from the dark. Release me from the dark. Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission! Transmission!

Now it’s time, now it’s time. The end is near, very near. There’s no rose on the vine. No they don’t grow here. Raining fire, raining fire. And there’s blood in the leaves. Smoke is blowing forty miles. Thunder rolling through the trees. And all these things will come to pass. Enjoy it while it lasts. And all these things will come to pass. Enjoy it while it lasts. Now it’s time, now it’s time. The end is near, very near. There’s no rose on the vine. No they don’t grow here. Enjoy it while it lasts. Enjoy it while it lasts. Enjoy it while it lasts. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Shapeshifter 03:49
7.
Not the first one, not the last. More coming every day. Many bodies in the streets. Gettin busy, man! Another breath, another step, another mouth to feed. Do we all just take up space until we’re gone? Live your life! Live your life! When life is full, confusion conquers you. Not exactly what I wanna do. Come on and pull up all the world’s vines. Live a life like I wanted to. A broken tape, when I speak I’m talking backwards. In my head just a ringing like a bomb went off. I’m walking blindly into traffic. Gettin busy, man! I’m seeing things from a place behind a screen. I watch myself move and I hear myself speak. Do we all just look for parking spaces until we’re gone? Live your life! Live your life! When I leave my room I feel a fool. Not exactly what I wanna do. Come on and pull up all the world’s vines. Live a life like I wanted to.

I Went Wrong 04:37
I was born, cord was torn. Used that blade to shear my horns. Had a prayer, had a chance, had a conventional romance. Met a man on the street. I took a tab, then I ate a sheet. Flipped my lid, I was broke free although they all believed in me. I grew up and I went wrong! I grew up and I went wrong! I grew up and I went wrong! Teacher said I would go far. I got a gun and I stole a car. Met a boy, hopped a train. Portland, Oregon, to Portland, Maine. Went down South, robbed a house, put that bottle to my mouth. Split my wig, I sat in a tree although they all believed in me. I grew up and I went wrong! I grew up and I went wrong! I grew up and I went wrong! Expectations that you had. Expectations are a drag. And all that weight you put on me. Step closer, what do you see? I grew up and I went wrong! I grew up and I went wrong! I grew up and I went wrong! I grew up and I went wrong!

about

"In the Spring of 2018, singer/guitarist Rolfe Briney recruited the wrecking crew of Daniel Hargett, Abby Anderson, and Jackson Gafford to form The Bouquets. Each member held their own industrious space in the music scenes of Birmingham and Auburn, AL, before forming like Voltron to make this group. The Bouquets were founded on the idea that no influence should go ignored, and their first album, a self-titled effort out now on Earth Libraries, reflects this ethos. On this record the group combines the gunslinger-style guitar of 50's/60's rock instrumentals with spacey proto-punk and a pinch of pop sweetness. Songs such as "Get It Right," "Black Tourmaline," and "Transmission" explore themes of self transformation and mysticism. Others such as the juvenile delinquency saga of "I Went Wrong" and the ode to freedom that is "Live Your Life" exist as anthems for all those who wish to let their freak flags fly. The trance-y and apocalyptic "Now It's Time," the desert rock instrumental "Static Temple," and the surf throwback "Shapeshifter" bring more psychedelic fire to the record. With direct nods to Link Wray, Santo & Johnny, Joe Meek, and many other legends, The Bouquets have attempted to create a rich rock'n'roll tapestry and a synthesis of all things cool. All in all, they hope to make thoughtful, good-time music for you to think and dance about. This music is for everyone and we encourage you to play it loud!"
